Frontamentals #12: Dominate One Platform

#12: Dominate One Platform - From Digital Overwhelm to Online Presence Confidence

Happy Thursday!

If you caught this week's #TipTuesday, you know we're exploring a principle that can save you from digital overwhelm: dominating one platform instead of drowning in many.

It’s a topic that may not be relevant to you in this instance, but I’m here to help you make better marketing decisions when this might come up in conversation in the future. Usually, it’s in the form of “you should be on X, Y, and Z platforms if you want to grow your business,” and I’m here to tell you, no, that’s not sage advice, especially if you have a displeasure for social media and feel overwhelmed by it all.

If there’s one platform you know best, are familiar with, and consistently receive quality comments, continue using it!

The Focus Framework

Step 1: Audit Your Current Reality

List every platform where you're currently "active," such as social media, professional/business networks, content & video, review & local, e-commerce & marketplace, communication, and emerging & niche platforms. So many platforms! 😱

  • For instance, the newsletter you’ve received is from a communication platform that I’ve found to be the best for sharing my insights with you, which is why you hear from me weekly. 😀

Now, honestly assess: where are you seeing actual engagement and conversions? Not vanity metrics—real business results.

Step 2: Choose Your Champion Platform

Select the one platform where:

  • Your ideal clients spend time
  • You can consistently create content without burnout
  • You're already seeing some traction

Step 3: Go All In

Dedicate 80% of your marketing energy to this platform. Become an expert on its features, understand its algorithm, and build genuine relationships there.

Why This Works

When you focus on one platform, you can:

  • Create content consistently without overwhelm
  • Build deeper relationships with your audience
  • Understand what resonates
  • Develop platform-specific expertise

Quality beats quantity every time. One thoughtful post that sparks real conversations is worth more than posting mediocre content across five platforms.

Be heard, not ignored!

Until next Thursday,

P.S. Feel free to pass this newsletter along. Let's help our small business community thrive through sustainable marketing practices!
